is International Climate Action Day & GLOBAL CLIMATE HEALING SHABBAT

BJEN, Pearlstone, Jewish Volunteer Connection, and THE ASSOCIATED ask you to commemorate this day by helping us to log 350 acts of climate change towards the community’s goal of 90,000 hours of service.

Please do as many of these or other carbon reduction acts as possible, and be sure to log them in to our community total!

1. Walk to synagogue for Global Climate Healing Shabbat

2. Host a vegetarian Global Climate Healing Shabbat dinner

3. Plant a tree in honor of Global Climate Healing Shabbat

4. Use beeswax candles for Global Climate Healing Shabbat instead of paraffin

5. Have an Electronics-Free Global Climate Healing Shabbat

6. Air dry your laundry on Global Climate Healing Shabbat weekend

7. Turn off your car if you are idling more than 3 minutes in carpool line this Sunday

8. Change your light bulbs to CFL’s or LED’s

9. Caulk or insulate drafts in your home

10. Leave your car at home one day this week

11. Check your tire pressure

12. Purchase your produce at a farmers market this week

13. Unplug unused chargers

14. Buy only local products this week

15. Turn down or insulate your hot water heater

16. Sign up for BGE’s Peak Rewards program

17. Install programmable thermostats

18. Only use rechargeable batteries

Shabbat Noah focuses on the danger of destruction of life on our planet, and also on the actions we need to take to prevent destruction and preserve the web of life in which the human race has emerged and created civilization.
